The Turbowheel Lightning’s dual 1000W motors are available for $1690, and it includes off-road tires.

What Stands Out:

The Turbowheel Lightning delivers a thrilling experience with its remarkable power and torque. While its top speed is 40 mph, the key isn’t merely about reaching this speed but having access to power, acceleration, and torque for added safety and enjoyment when navigating city streets and urban environments.

Additionally, this scooter is well-suited for off-road adventures, providing an exhilarating experience on various terrains.

Notable Features:

  • Appealing Design: The scooter boasts an attractive design with black and red colors, ergonomic hand grips, and impressive suspension and disc brakes.
  • Acceleration and Torque: The Turbowheel Lightning offers an exhilarating ride with smooth and controlled acceleration, making it suitable for both experienced riders and newcomers.
  • Ride Comfort: Thanks to its shocks and pneumatic tires, the scooter offers a smooth ride on rough surfaces and makes off-road excursions enjoyable.
  • Braking: With reliable front and rear disc brakes, the scooter ensures strong and responsive braking, a vital feature given its high speeds.

Challenges:

While the Turbowheel Lightning packs in impressive power and performance at an affordable price, it does have some limitations:

  • Portability: Weighing 77 lbs, the scooter is not the most portable option, which is a trade-off for its power and affordability.
  • Height Adjustment: The scooter’s stem is not height-adjustable, potentially causing discomfort for riders significantly shorter or taller than average.
  • Controls: The buttons for switching between ECO and TURBO modes and SINGLE and DUAL motor modes could be clearer, and riders may find it challenging to determine the current mode.

In summary, the Turbowheel Lightning offers remarkable power and speed at an attractive price. While it can reach 40 mph, riders are encouraged to enjoy the power and torque it provides, making it a versatile and fun way to commute and explore.

  1. Good review. Thoughtful as always. One thing to note — motorcycles also have the front wheel braking on the right. Most of the stopping power will be in the front brake. Of course, having the front wheel lock when braking is much more dangerous than the back wheel. Did it feel like you might do to an endo (rear wheel leaving the ground) when applying the front brake?
    Thanks!

    1. It kind of catches you by surprise if you are going fast and brake hard with the front brakes. Almost felt like and endo but it is a very stable machine.

  2. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more
in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1
or two images. Maybe you could space it out
    better?
